When an expense item has been submitted, it is pending approval from a specific user (the "assignee"), as determined by the logic implemented in your Nexonia configuration.
The submitted expenses can be reassigned away from the current assignee to another user. See "How to Reassign Expense Approvals" for more information on how to use this function.
Administrators always have the ability to reassign any submitted expenses.
For non-Administrator users to be able to reassign submitted expenses that are assigned to them, reassignment must be enabled for their user role and on the specific approval workflow step that the submitted expenses are pending approval at.
- To enable the reassignment action for a user's role, go to Settings > Users > Roles > choose the role > General > set "Reassign Approval Enabled: Yes"
- To enable the reassignment action at the approval step(s), go to Settings > Users > Approval > choose the workflow > Edit > click the approval step > set "Reassign Approval Enabled: Yes" > Modify
Using these two settings, it is possible to configure an environment where only specific users have the ability to reassign, at specific points in the approval process. For example, only users with the "Accountant" role have the ability to reassign expenses that are assigned to them at the "Finance Review" step.
