Synchronizing Nexonia Users' Managers from NetSuite

In a NetSuite-integrated Nexonia environment, Nexonia users can be synchronized from NetSuite Employees, and/or Vendors. 
 
For Nexonia users that are synchronized from NetSuite Employees, the Nexonia users' managers can be synchronized from the NetSuite Employee's Supervisor or Expense Approver.
 
For Nexonia users that are synchronized from NetSuite Vendors, the Nexonia users' managers can be synchronized from a custom field on the NetSuite vendor.
 
To synchronize managers for Nexonia users that are synchronized from NetSuite employees:

1. In NetSuite, set the Supervisor or Expense Approver on each Employee. 

- The person you select must also be a Nexonia user, or the value will not sync

- it must form in a linear hierarchy or the sync will fail (with an error message):

- ie. if Jane is John's supervisor, and John is Jack's supervisor, then Jack cannot be Jane's supervisor 

- A circular hierarchy is possible in NetSuite, but not in Nexonia

- One employee at the top of the hierarchy cannot have a supervisor (otherwise it would not be linear)


2. In Nexonia, activate this synchronization from NetSuite* >> Integration Setup >> Edit Parameters >> Users >> 'Map Nexonia Supervisor (Employee)' >> choose 'NetSuite Supervisor' or 'NetSuite Expense Approver'

3. Run the configuration sync from within Nexonia at NetSuite* >> Integration Setup>> Run a Full Sync Now. 

4. You'll see the synchronized values in Nexonia at Settings >> Users >> look in the 'Reports To' column, or edit an individual user and look in the "Manager" field
 
 
To synchronize managers for Nexonia users that are synchronized from NetSuite vendors:
 
1. In NetSuite, create a custom field of type List/Record, on the Vendor object, that references either the Employee or Vendor list, depending on which list the managers should be chosen from.
- note the Field ID that is generated (likely "custrecord_...")
 
2. In NetSuite, edit the Vendors that sync to Nexonia as users and select the Manager from the new custom field you created. 

- The person you select must also be a Nexonia user, or the value will not sync

- It must form in a linear hierarchy or the sync will fail (with an error message), for example:

- ie. if Jane is John's supervisor, and John is Jack's supervisor, then Jack cannot be Jane's supervisor 

- A circular hierarchy is possible in NetSuite, but not in Nexonia

- One vendor at the top of the hierarchy cannot have a supervisor (otherwise it would not be linear)

2. In Nexonia, activate this synchronization from NetSuite* >> Integration Setup >> Edit Parameters >> Users >> 'Map Nexonia Supervisor (Vendor)': Yes >>enter the Field ID from the NetSuite custom field you created in Step 1 into either, "Field ID for Nexonia Vendor Supervisor (Employee)" or "Field ID for Nexonia Vendor Supervisor (Vendor)", depending on whether the custom field is a list of employees or vendors. 

3. Run the configuration sync from within Nexonia at NetSuite* >> Integration Setup >> Run A Full Sync Now

4. You'll see the synchronized values in Nexonia at Settings >> Users >> look in the 'Reports To' column, or edit an individual user and look in the "Manager" field
